Both the Home Health and Hospice consultant training will focus on the accreditation process, the CHAP accreditation standards, the most cited deficiencies, and strategies to implement to attain improved organizational compliance. OUTCOME

  • 13 CE credits for Hospice
  • This nursing continuing professional development activity was approved by the Virginia Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. To receive contact hours for this activity participants must attend the entire workshop, actively participate in engagement activities, and submit an evaluation.
  • Note: Attendees participating in both the Hospice and Home Health Intensive will receive a total of 18.25 CE contact hours.

  • CHAP Consultant: $499 - discount available if you would like to attend both Home Health and Hospice (3 days, 18.25 CEs total)

Bobbie Warner found her calling in community-based nursing over 25 years ago after working various roles in direct patient care and administrative positions in Home Health, Hospice, and Private Duty.

Warner began her career at CHAP more than 12 years ago. She began as a Site Visitor, then as a Senior Accreditation Manager and was promptly promoted to Director of Accreditation, and finally landed as Director of Education in 2020. 

She is responsible for the development of educational content as well as facilitation of workshops and training. Warner is an expert facilitator and is especially knowledgeable on the topic of quality improvement, emergency planning, compliance with the CMS Conditions on Participation and the CHAP survey process.

The chapters covered will be Hospice Inpatient Care, Care to Residents in a Facility, Hospice Assessment/Care Planning and Coordination, Care Delivery and Treatment, Hospice Leadership & Governance, and Hospice Patient Family Centered Care. Day Two is a day that combines hospice and home health attendees to address key areas of performance that are extremely similar such as Infection Prevention and Control, Emergency Preparedness and Quality Improvement.

Review of CHAP Hospice Standards of Excellence will be conducted with the focus on those standards in each chapter that result in the most cited findings. This engaging workshop will include the use of a case studies that will be utilized to reflect areas in need of improvement and provide interactive learning. Nurse participants who complete all sessions, participate in engagement activities and submit the evaluation will be awarded 13.0 CE contact hours.
