QAPI: Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement for Home Health and Hospice Providers (CHAP On-Demand)

Welcome to QAPI: Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement for Home Health and Hospice Providers. This course is a comprehensive, asynchronous training designed for home health clinicians, QA professionals, and clinical leaders who are responsible for or participate in their organization’s QAPI program and includes an overview of QAPI, the distinction between Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement, the elements of a QAPI program, QAPI measures and data analysis, building a PIP, and organizational accountability for QAPI.

Upon completion, participants will have increased knowledge of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) QAPI requirements for home health and hospice organizations. 

• Define QAPI (Quality Assurance Performance Improvement) and explain its purpose in home health and hospice.
• Identify core CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) expectations for an ongoing, organization-wide, data-driven QAPI program.
• Differentiate quality assurance activities from performance improvement activities.
• Select meaningful quality indicators and data sources for monitoring performance.
• Describe the steps for designing, implementing, and sustaining a performance improvement project (PIP).
• Explain staff and leadership roles in creating a culture of quality and safety.
