This two-day workshop will focus on building up your operational toolkit with the goal of helping you effectively run (and GROW) your agency while providing client-centered care. This is a skill-based workshop with focused activities for the home care/private duty providers with a tailored approach to increase agency success. This workshop is open to anyone in the home care/private duty industry, whether already working in it, looking to get into it, or expanding your community-based services.

Attendees will:

  • Understand the key components of home care business operations
  • Examine the regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to home care 
  • Gain insights into best practices in quality programming 
  • Explore marketing and business development techniques specific to home care
  • Review trends & best practices in workforce management 
  • Apply fiscal management skills - including overview of operational expenses and budgeting
  • Evaluate payer sources and explore state specific programs
Outcome: Successful completion of the workshop and a minimum score of 80% on the exam results in your certification as a CHAP Certified Home Care Professional Operator© (CHCPO©)*.

Vicki is a multistate registered nurse with more than 40 years of healthcare experience. The majority of her experience has been based in the home services arena including home health, hospice, home care and home infusion. Most recently, Vicki served as a clinical consultant supporting agencies across the U.S. to achieve regulatory compliance. Vicki has also served as a CHAP site visitor, home health, home care and hospice administrator and clinic director and as a marketing director for home health and home infusion organizations. She has achieved the Certified HOPE Specialist-Clinical credential and is a CHAP Certified Home Health and Hospice Consultant.

Vicki achieved her Associate of Science in Nursing from West Georgia College and later completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and MBA in Healthcare Management from Western Governors University. Vicki is married with 3 adult children. She and her family have taken many road trips and have tent-camped across the lower 48 states spending time in all. They are also boaters and hikers and have visited Disney World many times over the years.

Denise Stanford is passionate about the impact of education and training on quality improvement in healthcare. As someone who has utilized community-based healthcare services for loved ones, she understands the importance of high-quality care and services.

Denise personally experienced how education and training can transform an individual’s life and the lives of those they touch. Denise has been working as an educator in community-based healthcare for over a decade. She greatly enjoys creating learning experiences that engage learners and teach real-time skills that can be immediately applied on the job. Her master’s degree in adult learning has allowed her to work on the development of workshops and e-learning for healthcare professionals, focus on training for community members, and serve as an adjunct professor working with first-time college students. In her role at CHAP, she helps craft meaningful learning experiences and oversees the operation of the Learning Solutions department.
