This two-day workshop will focus on building up your operational toolkit with the goal of helping you effectively run (and GROW) your agency while providing client-centered care. This is a skill-based workshop with focused activities for the home care/private duty providers with a tailored approach to increase agency success. This workshop is open to anyone in the home care/private duty industry, whether already working in it, looking to get into it, or expanding your community-based services.
Attendees will:
- Understand the key components of home care business operations
- Examine the regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to home care
- Gain insights into best practices in quality programming
- Explore marketing and business development techniques specific to home care
- Review trends & best practices in workforce management
- Apply fiscal management skills - including overview of operational expenses and budgeting
- Evaluate payer sources and explore state specific programs
Outcome: Successful completion of the workshop and a minimum score of 80% on the exam results in your certification as a CHAP Certified Home Care Professional Operator© (CHCPO©)*.

Wendy is an accomplished and experienced nurse and operations leader, with over 25 years of dedicated service in the field of home care. As the owner of a successful healthcare consulting business, Wendy has demonstrated her expertise in various capacities, including as a CHAP certified consultant, legal nurse consultant, and accreditation surveyor.
Throughout her career, Wendy has served in both state and national roles, notably as VP, Operations and Director of Advocacy for national home care agencies, where she played a pivotal role in shaping industry standards and advocating for the advancement of home care services. Her extensive experience extends to new business start-ups, where she has consistently proven her ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and establishing thriving ventures.
In addition to her professional achievements, Wendy currently serves on the Recreational Therapy Licensing board, appointed by NC House Speaker, Tim Moore, and has served on national and state homecare and home health association boards, contributing her insights and expertise to further the goals of the industry. A dedicated advocate for quality care, Wendy's commitment to excellence has earned her recognition as a trusted leader in the field. Outside of her professional endeavors, Wendy finds joy in her family life, being married and residing in the picturesque coastal area in the state of North Carolina. She cherishes the moments spent traveling and creating memories with her family, finding balance and fulfillment in both her personal and professional pursuits.

Denise Stanford is passionate about the impact of education and training on quality improvement in healthcare. As someone who has utilized community-based healthcare services for loved ones, she understands the importance of high-quality care and services.
Denise personally experienced how education and training can transform an individual’s life and the lives of those they touch. Denise has been working as an educator in community-based healthcare for nearly a decade. She greatly enjoys creating learning experiences that engage learners and teach real-time skills that can be immediately applied on the job. Her master’s degree in adult learning has allowed her to work on the development of workshops and e-learning for healthcare professionals, focus on training for community members, and serve as an adjunct professor working with first-time college students. In her role at CFE, she helps craft meaningful learning experiences and oversees the operation of the department.

Her innovative approaches have earned her two state-wide Best Practices awards in Virginia.
Jacquie has held key leadership roles such as Area Sales Manager, Area Vice President, Vice President, Executive Director, and Enterprise Sales Trainer for a national healthcare company covering 17 states. She specializes in leadership mentoring, client training, fieldwork, strategy development, and leveraging data for differentiation. Passionate about end-of-life education, Jacquie is dedicated to changing perceptions of caregiving in America.
