This two and a half day workshop will focus on giving you all the tools you need for operational excellence with a goal of patient-centered care. This is a hands-on, skill-based workshop that is focused in on the Hospice industry and has a tailored approach to increasing agency success. Successful completion of the workshop and a minimum score of 80% on the exam results in your certification as a CHAP Center for Excellence Certified Hospice Professional Operator© (CHPO©).*

How to obtain CE contact hours

Criteria for successful completion includes attendance at the entire event (3 days); participation in hands on activities, a post-test score of 80% or better and completion of an evaluation.

Hospice Quality Reporting Program

The impact of compliance on payment is covered along with changes expected for FY 22. The course is intended for hospice leaders and clinicians and provides the opportunity to gain needed knowledge to respond when regulations governing the Hospice Quality Reporting Program change. Learning Objectives: Identify the components that currently make up the HQRP. Correlate the omission of data collection for HIS measures with the quality measure outcomes. Apply the steps used to calculate composite measure scores from individual measure data. List two resources to obtain information about the HQRP requirements including any updates planned/implemented.

Hospice Medicare Benefit Basics

A basic review of hospice care and services, appropriate for all hospice staff and volunteers, is provided. Learning Objectives: Identify three characteristics of hospice care. Relate the purposes behind the Medicare Hospice Benefit to the regulations guiding provision of care. Differentiate between Core Covered Services and Covered Services that may be provided under arrangement. Apply Medicare Hospice Benefit requirements for comprehensive assessment content in patient scenarios. Match hospice discharge types to the situation that appropriately describes their use.
