This interactive course will help your agency be prepared for any emergency and stay compliant with CHAP Standards. 

* For Hospice: The material covered in this course is specific to community-based hospice organizations and does not focus on the CMS Emergency Preparedness requirements for in-patient units/facilities. 

Learning Objectives:

  • Verbalize understanding of the home health and hospice CMS Conditions of Participation and CHAP Standards as they relate to Emergency Preparedness. 
  • Verbalize understanding of the top six emergency preparedness tags and how to demonstrate compliance with the regulatory requirements.
  • Recognize common pitfalls and consequences that can result from a lack of emergency preparedness planning.
  • Identify recommendations for improving emergency preparedness within your organization.

Continuing Education: This nursing continuing professional development activity was approved by the Virginia Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
