This webinar reviews the challenges associated with providing evidenced-based hospice education and training. Discussion includes strategies on how to build education programming that provides measurable outcomes. This webinar also explores     several techniques to strengthen your hospice program’s education program to meet and exceed CMS requirements. 

Learning Objectives

At the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Assess the current state of their own hospice education and training programs, identifying strengths and opportunities 
  2. Discuss the CMS requirements for hospice education and training. 
  3. Develop strategies to strengthen their own hospice education and training to improve staff development, competency and quality patient care.

Jennifer Shepherd has over 20 years’ experience in healthcare and nursing leadership. She is best known for her project management, professional development and analytical capabilities; leading teams to cultivate and implement innovative strategies, ensuring achievement of organizational goals. She serves on the Virginia Nurses Association Board as Commissioner of Workforce Issues, holds a position on Capella’s School of Nursing and Health Sciences Advisory Board, and last year joined the Community Health Accreditation Partnership as Director of Educational Services.

Jennifer regularly presents on topics such as: practice innovation, quality analytics, and workforce development.  She is actively involved in congressional district meetings across the Commonwealth of Virginia, providing analysis and insight regarding health policy and delivery and provides guidance to lawmakers on nursing and healthcare specific issues in each of their districts.

She holds advanced certifications as a nurse executive, in hospice and palliative nursing, pediatric critical care and nursing professional development.
